THINK BIG
GO BEYOND
MISSION STATEMENT
GU Rocketry aims to create a learning environment that provides students with the skills and experience that are required to operate within the UK space sector. This includes documentation, safety, design procedure and normal industry practice, using our launch campaigns as a platform to expose students to these kinds of practices.
GU Rocketry aims to inspire the future of STEM through our outreach programs, our education program and our launches themselves.

OUR PROJECTS
01 / Saltire-1
Saltire-1 was the teams first design project, to design a high powered rocket capable of reaching 5000ft. Saltire-1 was essential for the newly formed team to find their footing and execute procedures safely in the first ever launch of a high-powered rocket performed by a Scottish university team.
02 / Saltire-2
Saltire-2, the even more ambitious project from the team, intends to launch a top to bottom fully custom, composite rocket to 15000ft from the Isle of Uist at Spaceport One. This being the first student rocket to launch from a spaceport in the British Isles.
03 / Chimera
Our propulsion team has been working for over a year to create a fully student-designed hybrid rocket engine that will be tested in the latter half of 2021. This is just a first stepping stone to creating a flight-weight model we can use within our airframes.
